Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Seamaster from 1970 in an oversized version. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black contrast, twin markers at 12 o’clock. There is a tiny mark below the center of the dial, which isn’t visible to the naked eye. The baton hands with the original black contrast are in very fine condition. The date is displayed in the steel framed window at 3 o'clock and can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel/watch face is in very fine condition, with a few small marks at the top and bottom. The brushed stainless steel case with the original crown and curved batman lugs is in very fine condition with only light overall wear, mostly on the left case side. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus logo and a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original bead of rice bracelet is in very fine visual condition but shows some stretching. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The large size of this reference for the era combines with the great condition to make this watch look fabulous on the wrist. This is a watch that will serve well as both a daily driver and as part of a regular rotation schedule.
