Here is a fabulous and rare all original 1969 Omega Seamaster Chronometer in an oversized version. The silver sparkle dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and emblem and barely any marks. It has steel railroad style hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, wider markers at the poles. Slight discoloration can be seen on some of the hour markers. The baton hands are in fine condition with the original black contrast and lume, showing some corrosion upon close inspection. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock shows the weekday and the date. The date can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outer position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition, with a sunburst pattern on the face and polished sloped sides. It shows just a few marks throughout, perhaps most notable at around 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs is in very fine condition, with a brushed face and sides and a polished facet. It shows light overall wear, most notable along the polished bevels. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a well preserved hippocampus logo in its center and just a few small marks. The case has been refinished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Omega buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 751 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in June 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Chronometer versions of the Seamaster are rare, and this one is a stunner. The wonderful sparkle dial, large size and wonderful condition makes this a watch for both today and the next generation.
