Here is a wonderful and rare, all original Omega Seamaster Chronometer from 1968 in an oversized version. The radially brushed silver dial has a steel Omega logo and emblem and railroad style steel hour markers with black contrast, wider marker at 12 o’clock. It has a gentle and even patina and is in overall fine condition apart from some wear along the rim such at around 4 to 7 o’clock and 11 to 12 o’clock and a scatter of tiny corrosion spots. The wear along the rim looks much more pronounced in the photos than to the naked eye. The baton hands have the original black contrast and are in fine condition with slight wear visible under magnification. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial. 

The wide stainless steel bezel has a subtle sunburst pattern and is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable a nick at around 4 o’clock and a scratch at around 12 o’clock. The bold stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs is in fine condition, with a brushed face and sides separated by a polished bevel. It shows some overall wear, mostly towards the lugs both on the face and sides. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved hippocampus logo and some overall wear. The case does not seem to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine visual condition with some stretching and overall wear, most notably on the end links closest to the case and on the double fold clasp. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, perhaps the best watch movement ever made, Omega’s caliber 564, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
