Here is a downright stunning, all original Omega Pie Pan Constellation Chronometer from 1966 with a rare dial and case. The gilt black Pie Pan dial is in fine condition, with a golden Omega logo, emblem, and Constellation star. It has faceted golden bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny spots around the dial and some wear around the edge of the dial at around 1 and 3-7 o’clock as well as around the 5 and 6 o’clock hour markers. This looks more exaggerated in the photos than to the naked eye. The golden dauphine hands have the original lume intact and are in very fine condition. The cyclops eye in the original plexiglass displays the date in the golden framed window at 3 o’clock. The date can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The solid 14K rose gold bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear such as at 2, 4, 8 and 10 o’clock. The rose gold capped case with the original partially hidden crown and straight lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and the case sides. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean rose gold Geneva observatory medallion and is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original rose gold plated bead of rice bracelet is in fine visual condition, with some stretching and overall wear, perhaps most visible at the double fold clasp. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s fantastic 564 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
