Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Constellation Pie Pan Chronometer from 1972. The silver sunburst Pie Pan dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star and barely any marks. It has faceted steel bar hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. The dauphine hands with the original black contrast are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi-quick set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at around 12 and 7 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and the characteristic dog leg lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, most pronounced some rounding of the lugs and marks on the lower lugs. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean Geneva observatory medallion and is in very fine condition with light overall wear.

The watch comes on the original steel bead of rice bracelet. The bracelet is in fine visual condition with some marks and stretching, most visible on the double fold clasp and the links closest to it. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 564 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Pie Pan Constellation is perhaps the most iconic Omega ever, and with the original bracelet this is a real find. This is a watch that looks great on the wrist and goes well with both formal and informal wear.
