Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Genève Seamaster from 1968. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and black lettering. It has steel strip hour markers with black contrast, double markers at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial and a couple of faint marks at around 2 o’clock. The baton hands with the original black contrast are in fine condition with some corrosion, mostly on the seconds hand. The original plexiglass crystal has a cyclops eye at 3 o’clock, where the date is displayed. The date can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notably at about 3 and 6-8 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and batman lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and on the sides, in particular on the left case side. The stainless steel case back with a crisp and clean hippocampus medallion at its center is in good condition, with a scatter of small wear marks and a notable scratch.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Genève Seamaster is a strange beast, being a crossover of two of Omega’s best known models. The wonderful dial and overall condition makes this a lovely watch to have grace your wrist and it will be a watch to pass on to the next generation.
