Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Genéve from 1970 in a very large size for the era. The brushed dark grey dial is in very fine condition with a steel Omega logo and chunky steel hour markers with black contrast. There are a few tiny marks around the dial, most notably around the rim, such as at around 1-2 o’clock and 3-8 o’clock. There are also a couple of small marks close to the 11 o’clock hour marker. The baton hands have black contrast stripes and are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to outermost position. This should only be done with the hands at the lower half of the dial.

The stainless steel case with the original crown and stub lugs is in fine overall condition, with a polished face and sides separated by a brushed bevel. There is a small cluster of nicks at the upper left lug and also a few marks at the other lugs, as well as a number of scratches at the face around the dial. The stainless steel back has a radially brushed center and polished rim and is in good condition with some notable scratches and small dents. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original mesh bracelet is in fine condition, with some wear on the micro-links closest to the case and also on the double fold clasp. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist, as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega's fantastic 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was serviced in December 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Genéve was marketed as more of an Omega entry level series, but some of the Genéve's were given the highest grade movements and particular design, and this one is a testament to that. It looks just great on the wrist, and it goes with both formal and casual wear.
