Here is a stunning, all original Omega Genève from 1973 in a rare reference. The golden sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a black script Omega logo and lettering. It has golden hour markers with black contrast, wider marker at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial which are not visible to the naked eye but makes the dial seem to sparkle. The black baton hour and minute hands are in very fine condition, with a few small marks visible on the golden seconds hand. The black framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial. The hack feature stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled to set the hands, allowing more accurate time setting.
The solid 18K gold bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most prominent at around 3 o’clock. The solid 18K gold case with the original crown and batman lugs is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at the lugs and towards the bottom of the left case side. The brushed stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a few marks of wear and age. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original gold plated Omega buckle in good condition.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1012 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The very elegant design and great condition of this watch makes it a pleasure to wear and admire on your wrist. This is a watch that will add to any vintage collection and will get a lot of compliments.
