Here is a fabulous, all original Omega dress watch from 1958 in a rare reference. The silver dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel chevron hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There is some discoloration at the edge of the dial at around 5 o’clock and a few tiny marks scattered around the dial, perhaps most prominent close to the 7 o’clock hour marker. The dauphine hands are in fine condition.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most prominent at around 10 and 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and long, curved lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly at the outsides of the lugs but also on the face of lugs, in particular the upper right lug. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with some marks and scratches. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original bead of rice bracelet is in very fine visual condition with some stretching and wear, mostly on the double fold clasp. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s legendary 284 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Vintage watches do not come much more subtly elegant than this one, with its completely uncluttered dial and original bracelet. The wonderful vintage condition makes this a watch that stands out on your wrist and will elicit a lot of compliments.
