Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Constellation Pie Pan Chronometer from 1962. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. It has arrow tail shaped steel hour markers at the poles and faceted steel bar hour markers in between. There are a few tiny corrosion spots around the dial, such as on each side of the word “Chronometer” and above “Constellation”, and there are some tiny marks close to the date window. None of these are really visible to the naked eye. The dauphine hands are in fair condition with some visible corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again until the date changes. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in good condition with some overall wear, such as at 4, 7 and 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and the characteristic dog leg lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notably at the lugs but also some marks on the case sides, mostly the left side. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean steel Geneva observatory medallion and is in fine condition with a few noticeable marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bead of rice bracelet is in fine visual condition with some stretching and overall wear, most notable on the outside of a few of the links and on the double fold clasp. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The dog leg Constellation is one of the vintage lovers’ favorites, and this is a watch that loves to be worn. It looks great on the wrist with its vintage condition and will serve its next owner well for years and years.
