Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation Pie Pan Chronometer from 1959. The dark silver sunburst Pie Pan dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. It has steel hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double markers at the poles. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion bubbles around the dial. The dauphine hands with the original lume intact are in fair condition with visible wear. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The wide stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 4 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy teardrop lugs is in fine condition with a few marks, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a slightly worn gold Geneva observatory medallion and a scatter of small scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original Omega bead of rice bracelet is in very fine visual condition, showing some stretching as is common with old bracelets. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in February 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Constellations are fabulous and very collectible watches, and this early Pie Pan model looks great on the wrist with its darker than usual dial and overall condition. This is a watch that will add to any vintage collection and regular rotation schedule.
