Here is a fabulous and rare, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1961 in an uncommon reference. The silver sunburst crosshair dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and looks fantastic, with a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star and barely any marks. It has faceted steel bar hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. The dauphine hands are in fine condition with some marks visible upon close scrutiny. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced a scuff at around 10 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy teardrop lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, most pronounced at the lugs and in particular the bottom right lug, but also with some wear on the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in good condition, with a worn gold Geneva observatory medallion and a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the genuine Omega buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in July 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Constellations are iconic and very collectible watches, and this uncommon model looks great on the wrist with its fabulous dial and overall condition. This is a watch that will add to any vintage collection and regular rotation schedule.
