Here is a gorgeous, all original Omega “Meister” Constellation Chronometer from 1963 in a very large size for the era. The crosshair silver sunburst Pie Pan dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem, and Constellation star. It is co-signed by Meister, a large Swiss jewelry store and manufacturer. The dial has faceted steel bar hour markers with black onyx inlay, double at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial and a scuff mark close to the 11 o’clock hour marker. The dauphine hands are in fine condition with some corrosion visible upon close scrutiny. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with sharply beveled angular lugs is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The original crown is partially embedded in the case, making it a bit less convenient to wind by hand, but when the watch is worn regularly the automatic winding takes care of that. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition with a well preserved steel Geneva observatory medallion and a few scratches and marks. The case has been restored.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Constellation is one of the most iconic vintage watches, and this oversized version with the hidden crown and a fabulous patina looks fantastic on the wrist. This is a watch that will make its next owner a happy person for many years to come.
