Here is a wonderful and very rare, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1971 with a Sigma dial. The brushed silver Sigma dial is in very fine condition apart from along the rim at the top, with a white gold Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. It has white gold strip hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, double at 12 o’clock. There is some wear along the rim of the dial at around 11 and 2 o’clock and there is a small mark between the 4 and 5 o’clock hour markers. The black baton hands are in very fine condition. Note that this model does not have a seconds hand to keep the profile very slim. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. This function should only be done with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.

The brushed stainless steel case with the original crown and embedded lugs is in very fine condition with light overall wear, mostly at the face towards the lugs but also on the case sides. The brushed stainless steel case back is in fine condition with light overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market stainless steel bracelet of good quality. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details fits your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade caliber 1001 beats strongly and accurately to within about +8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
