Here is a beautiful and very rare all original Ogival Fisk diver watch from 1965. The black dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Ogival and Fisk (fish) logo and white lettering. It has wide and chunky wedged steel hour markers at the poles and lume dots for the hours in between. Inside of the hour markers is a chapter ring with seconds and sub-seconds markings in white paint. In the rehaut is a beautifully aqua-colored pulsometer ring. The wide lume filled baton hands and a very special seconds hand are in very fine condition. The window at 4:30 displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly turning the hands through midnight, then backwards through 21:30 and then through midnight again.
The rotatable bezel is in fine condition, the black and white hour markings different in the first 25 minutes. It shows some overall wear, most notable a few marks at the 55 mark. The large for the era stainless steel case with the original crown and long, straight lugs is in very fine condition with light overall wear. The beautifully decorated stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a couple of notable scratches from attempts at opening the case back without the proper tools or skills.
The watch comes on a rubber strap of good quality.
Inside the watch, the high grade Felsa 4007N movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
Ogival was one of the many Swiss brands that succumbed to the quartz onslaught in the 1970s due to inadequate business management and this watch is a great testament to the quality they produced. The fabulous color play of the dial combined with the excellent movement inside it makes this a watch that you will be very happy to wear. Note that vintage diver watches are no longer suitable for diving!
