Here is a wonderful, all original Longines Conquest Automatic from 1966 with a very unusual dial. The silver dial has a swirl pattern and is in fine condition, with a steel Longines winged hourglass logo and black lettering. It has faceted bullet shaped steel hour markers at the poles and slightly wedged faceted steel hour markers in between. There is very little wear on the dial itself but along the edges some wear can be seen throughout and also around the 9 o’clock hour marker. The dauphine hands are in good condition with some visible corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most prominent a small dent at around 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with long, elegant lugs and the original crown is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and the case sides. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean steel Conquest medallion and is in fine condition with a few notable scratches around the edges from misguided attempts at opening the watch. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Longines’ fantastic 291 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
