Here is a fabulous, all original Longines Admiral HF Olympic Games edition from 1972 in an oversized version. The blue sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with white script logo and lettering. It has faceted steel bar hour markers with white contrast, double marker at 12 o’clock and lume at the inner ends at the poles. Slight degradation can be seen around the lume under magnification. The steel hour and minute baton hands are in fine condition with the original lume and white contrast while the seconds hand is painted white. Some cracking can be seen in the white contrast. The window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless case is in very fine condition, with a brushed face and polished slopes and sides. It shows only light wear throughout, perhaps most pronounced towards the lower right lug. This watch has a cool hack feature: when the crown is pulled out the seconds hand runs to midnight/zero and then stops until the crown is pushed back in. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a radial pattern and a few marks and scratches. It carries an inscription commemorating the 1972 Olympic games. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Longines buckle in very fine condition.
Inside the watch, Longines high grade 6592 movement ticks away at a for the era high frequency of 28800 beats per hour, beating strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
This watch manages to look both bold and classic with that lovely blue dial and great overall condition. With Longines’ fantastic engineering inside, this is a watch that will serve you very well for many years to come.
Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use. We offer 14 days full return rights and are very proud of our reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.
