Here is a fabulous, all original Longines Admiral from 1977. The golden sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a golden Longines logo and Admiral stars and barely any marks. It has golden strip hour markers with black contrast, twin markers at 12 o’clock. The stick hands are in very fine condition, the hour and minute hands in black and the seconds hand in gold. The black framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set weekday and date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial. When the crown is pulled all the way out, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting.
The gold plated bezel is in very fine condition, with only light overall wear. The gold plated case with heavy lugs and the original crown has a radially brushed face and polished sides and is in very fine condition, with just a few marks both at the lugs and on the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a radial pattern. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on the original Longines gold plated steel bracelet, which is in very fine condition with just a few marks, mostly on the fold clasp. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist, as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Longines high grade L 636.5 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
