Here is a fabulous, all original LeCoultre Futurematic from 1953. The black gilt dial is in very fine condition, with golden lettering and only light overall wear. It has golden Arabic numerals with golden triangle hour markers in between. The hour markers have lume stripes at their outer ends, with a golden minute track at the rim of the dial. The dial has two sunk subdials with radial brushing: the running small seconds hand is at 3 o’clock and the power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. The power reserve indicator shows red when the power is low. The golden dauphine hands are in very fine condition.

The 10K gold filled case with batman lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and the case sides, perhaps most notably at the upper left lug. The 10K gold filled case back is in fine condition with some marks of wear throughout. Note that this watch does not have a normal crown and cannot be hand wound. On the case back is the coin-shaped crown, which is not pulled out but rather slid in towards the center to set the crown to hand setting position. This also stops the movement so the time can be accurately. When the hands have been set, slide the crown back outwards from center to put it in resting position.

Inside the watch, LeCoultre’s ground breaking 497 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
