Here is a fabulous, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat Chronometer from 1970. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and barely any marks. It has railroad style steel bar hour markers with black contrast, double markers at 12 o’clock, and a painted minute track in between. The tapered hands with black central contrast are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date and weekday. This function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear such as at around 2, 4 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original KS crown and heavy faceted lugs is in fine condition, showing some wear both towards the lugs and on the sides. The stainless steel case back has a slightly worn gold KS Chronometer medallion and is in fine condition, with a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Seiko buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Chronometer versions of the King Seiko are not that easy to find any longer, and when in this condition it is a real find. This is a watch you will love to wear and admire on your wrist.
