Here is a wonderful and rare, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1974. The unusual frosted silver dial is in fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and steel bar hour markers, double markers at 12 o’clock. There are a few small marks around the center of the dial and also at around 8 o’clock. There is slight wear along the edge of the dial. The tapered baton hands are in fine condition, with the original black contrast intact. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock shows slight wear. It displays the quick-set weekday and date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some wear throughout, perhaps most notable at around 6 o’clock. The stainless case with the original KS crown and hidden lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly along the sharp edges. The stainless steel case back has a Seiko engraving and is in fine condition with a few scratches around the notches in the rim. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine visual condition with slight stretching and some overall wear, mostly on the double fold clasp. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5626B movement ticks away at the then very high frequency of 28800 beats per hour, beating strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
