Here is a fabulous and very rare, all original Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox E862 from 1969 in a very large size for the era. The silver sunburst outer dial is in very fine condition, with a black JLC logo at 12 o’clock and faceted golden bar hour markers. At the inner edge is a minute track with lume stripes for the hours. The inner silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a lume filled golden triangle showing the alarm position. It rotates to accurately set the alarm. The golden baton hands with the original lume and black contrast intact are in very fine condition. The golden framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then turning the hands backwards through 21:30 and then through midnight again so the date changes. Repeat as necessary.

The alarm is set with the top crown. Winding the spring for the alarm is done by rotating the crown while fully depressed. By pulling the crown out one can rotate the inner dial to set the arrow at the desired alarm time. When the set time is reached the alarm buzzes loudly for about 15-20 seconds when fully wound. When the crown is in the outer position the alarm does not ring.

The fluted solid 14k yellow gold bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original crowns and long, curved lugs is in very fine condition with a few marks of wear on both the face and sides. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a radially brushed center and a polished slope showing a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original two-tone bracelet is in very fine visual condition, showing some stretching and just a few marks. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, LeCoultre’s high grade K825 bumper automatic movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This version of the Memovox is more dressy than most and is a rare find, especially in this great condition. This a watch you will love to wear, and seeing people’s faces when the alarm goes off is priceless. The bumper automatic tops this off to make for something very special to have on your wrist.
