Here is a fabulous, all original IWC dress watch from 1966. The brushed silver dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and is in very fine condition, with a steel block IWC logo and the script logo below it. It has faceted steel wedge hour markers, double at the poles, as well as the characteristic steel spheres for the minutes. There are a couple of tiny marks at around the 10 and 11 o’clock hour markers, none of which are really visible to the naked eye. The sword hands are in very fine condition. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to time-setting mode, to facilitate more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 23:45 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with only light overall wear, perhaps most prominent at around 2 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and faceted heavy lugs is in fine condition, with some overall wear both on the case sides and at the lugs. The case back is in fine condition, with a brushed center and a polished rim and some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
