Here is a fabulous, all original IWC dress watch from 1968. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the script IWC logo and a gentle and even patina. It has black Roman numeral hour markers at the poles and steel strip hour markers with black contrast in between. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial, none of which are visible to the naked eye. The sword hands are in fine condition with the original black contrast intact. When the crown is pulled out for setting the time, the hack function stops the seconds hand so time can be accurately set.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and short, elegant lugs is in fine condition, with light overall wear mostly at the lugs. The case back is in very fine condition, with a brushed center and a polished rim, showing a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
