Here is a fabulous, all original IWC dress watch from 1963 in a large size for the era. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with the script IWC logo and barely any marks. It has faceted steel hour markers with black contrast, twin markers at 12 o’clock. Along the rim of the dial are the characteristic steel sphere minute markers. The faceted dauphine hands with black contrast are in very fine condition. At 3 o’clock, the steel framed window displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly moving the hands from 23:45 through midnight.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with only light overall wear, perhaps most prominent a scuff at around 11 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and long, elegant lugs is in fine condition with light overall wear, both at the case sides and the lugs. The stainless steel case back has a brushed center and polished sloped rim and is in fine condition, with some overall wear. It shows some pitting at the edge of the case around 4 o’clock in the photo. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on the original stainless steel Milanese bracelet strap with the original IWC buckle in fine condition. The bracelet can be freely adjusted for size.

Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in June 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
