Here is a fabulous and rare, all original Grand Seiko Chronometer GS57 from 1965. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and faceted steel bar hour markers, double markers at 12 o’clock. There are a few marks around the 6 and 8 o’clock hour markers. The faceted steel dauphine hands are in fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock shows the date, which can be quick-set with the crown pulled out to the middle position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is very fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at around 7 o’clock. The angular stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at the outside of the top left lug. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold GS lion medallion and is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5722A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in June 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
