Here is a fabulous and rare, all original Grand Seiko GS57 from 1965 with a unique typo in the movement! The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and faceted steel bar hour markers, double markers at 12 o’clock. The faceted steel dauphine hands are in fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock shows the date, which can be quick-set with the crown pulled out to the middle position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at around 12 o’clock. The angular stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most pronounced a scuff on the bottom left lug. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold GS lion medallion and is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5722A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. There is a curious and extremely rare typo in the movement number on the bridge; it says only 572! The watch was fully serviced in December 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
