Here is a fantastic and very rare, all original Glycine Airman SST from 1968. The two-tone 24 hour dial is in very fine condition, with the left half showing PM time in black and the right half showing AM time in charcoal grey. It has lume stripes for the hour markers, longer markers at 6 and 12 o’clock (or 12 and 24 on this watch). The chapter ring shows the 24 hour markings, while the orange inner bezel allows you to set a second time zone with the upper crown. There are a few tiny marks around the dial, somewhat more concentrated around its center. The wide white syringe hands have the original lume intact, with the seconds hand’s characteristic lume filled square at the tip. The cutout window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly turning the hands through midnight, then backwards through 20:30 and then through midnight again.

The very large stainless steel case with the original crowns is in very fine condition, with a sunburst face and polished sides and barely any marks. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition with the SST logo and just a few marks. The case has been refinished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Glycine buckle in very fine condition.

Inside the watch, the high grade AS 1903 beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Airman is an iconic line of aviation watches, and the SST model was made to celebrate the birth of SuperSonic Transport in the late 1960’s, reflected in the case back medallion. This is a very imposing watch with its massive size and orange inner bezel and it looks awesome on the wrist.
