Here is a wonderful, all original Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic from 1970. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a black print GP logo and faceted steel bar hour markers with black contrast. There is slight discoloration along the edge of the dial at around 3 o’clock and there are a few tiny scattered marks around the dial. The baton hands have the original black contrast stripes down the middle and are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by pulling the crown all the way out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel case with the original crown and embedded lugs has a polished face and sides separated by a wide brushed bevel and is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notable at the upper left lug and left case side. The stainless steel case back has a radially brushed center and polished sides and is in fine condition with a number of small scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
Inside the watch, GP’s high grade 460 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
