Here is a spectacular, all original Enicar Sherpa Date from 1967 in an oversized version. The silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Enicar logo and barely any marks. It has fantastic steel spaceship hour markers, larger markers at the poles. The faceted dauphine hands are in fine condition, with some corrosion and degradation of the lume. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 20:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 1 and 9 o’clock. The large and chunky stainless steel case with heavy, faceted lugs and the original crown is in fine condition, with some overall wear on both the case sides and the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with the Seapearl engravings and a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Enicar’s caliber AR1035 based on the AS1555N beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The fabulous dial and hour markers make this watch something very special to wear and the large size for the era makes it fit nicely in with today’s size preferences. This is a watch that is easy to love.
