Here is a fabulous and rare, all original Bucherer Chronometer from 1976. The brushed silver dial is in excellent condition with barely any marks. It has a black script Bucherer logo at 12 o’clock and faceted golden hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends. The faceted baton hands with the original lume are in very fine condition with some degradation to the lume. At 3 o’clock, the black framed window displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial. When the crown is pulled out to set the time or date, the hack feature stops the seconds hand so the time can be set precisely.

The gold plated bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The sharply angled stainless steel case with the original crown and embedded lugs is in very fine condition, with a brushed face and sides separated by a polished bevel. It shows just a few small marks, perhaps most notably a small mark just above the bezel on the face. The case back is in very fine condition with just a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on the original leather strap and buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Bucherer’s chronometer version of the ETA 2824 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in February 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Bucherer was recently acquired by Rolex but has a long history as one of the largest jewelry chains in Switzerland. They produced a lot of wonderful dress watches under their own name, of which this one is a great example.
