Here is a fabulous, all original Baume & Mercier Baumatic from 1975. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a black print Baume & Mercier logo and lettering. It has faceted steel strip hour markers with black contrast. There is a tiny mark just below the 12 o’clock hour marker and a scatter of tiny marks around the dial, none of which are really visible to the naked eye. The baton hands are in fine condition with black contrast stripes and a few marks of wear. The window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 23:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The medium sized stainless steel case with old school looking wire lugs (which are not actually fixed but uses female springbars) and the original blue cabochon crown is in very fine condition with light overall wear both at the lugs and the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a brushed finish showing a couple of small scratches. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Baume & Mercier steel buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Baume & Mercier’s version of Buren’s 1282 micro rotor movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
