Here is a fabulous, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1972 in a jumbo size. The brushed blue dial is in minty condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and barely any marks of wear or age. It has railroad style steel hour markers, twin markers at 12 o’clock. There are a few tiny marks around the dial, most notably a scatter of tiny spots at around the date window. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial. When the crown is pulled out to set time, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, most prominent at around 1, 3, 6 and 8-9 o’clock. The wonderfully shaped stainless case with the original KS crown and sloping lugs is in fine condition with some wear, most pronounced along the upper sides of the case. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved KS engraving and is in fine condition with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine condition with a few marks on some of the links and on the double fold clasp, with only light stretching. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
