Here is a wonderful, all original Rolex dress watch from 1966 in a very rare reference. The white dial is in very fine condition, with a black print Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and black Roman numeral hour markers. There is a small mark just below the center of the dial, as well as at the edge of the dial at around 3 and 7-8 o’clock, none of which are really visible to the naked eye. The black stick hands are in very fine condition. Note that this reference does not have a seconds hand, in order to keep the profile very slim.

The rectangular and slim solid 18K white gold case is in fine condition, with the original crown and slim stub lugs. It shows some wear both along the “bezel” and on the brushed case sides. The brushed case back is in fine condition with a Rolex crown engraving and some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished, which is very rare for a Rolex.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Rolex buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1600 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This is a very rare Rolex, with an unusual case shape and dial and an understated design. It is a watch that will get you lots of compliments and it is a great conversation starter.
