Here is a wonderful, all original Rolex Oyster Precision from 1970. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and faceted steel hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, wider markers at the poles. The baton hour and minute hands are in fine condition, with some wear, in particular on the seconds hand. All lume is somewhat degraded.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at around 3 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and brushed sides and is in fine condition, with a few marks mostly on the case sides but also at in particular the right side lugs. The original Rolex crown screws down as it should. The case back has the Oyster ridges and is in very fine condition with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original Oyster bracelet is in fine visual condition, showing some stretching. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1225 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Precision might have been their entry model but decades later the design is still essential Rolex. The simple and elegant layout has stood the test of time very well and this is a watch that will put a smile on your face every time you put it on.
