Here is a fabulous, all original Rado Green Horse from 1974 in a very large size for the era. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the rotating Rado anchor logo at 12 o’clock and the green seahorses emblem at 6 o’clock. It has tubular hour markers with black contrast. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the upper left quadrant of the dial and there is a faint scratch just above the right side of the seahorses emblem. The slightly faceted dauphine hands have black contrast stripes and are in fine condition with slight wear in particular on the minute hand. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date. The date can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 20:30 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 4, 7, 9 and 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with beautiful twisted lugs and the original crown is in fine condition with some overall wear, most pronounced at the outside of the upper left lug. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved seahorse medallion and a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Rado’s version of the high grade caliber AS 1700 beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
