Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 from 1971 in a very large size for the era. The deep blue dial has taken on a craquelure pattern and is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and white lettering. It has steel bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, wider marker at 12 o’clock. In addition to the crackle there is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial and on the hour markers. The baton hands with the original lume are in good condition with some corrosion and degradation to the lume. The hack feature stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled to set the hands, allowing more accurate time setting. The window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some wear throughout, perhaps most prominent at around 9 o’clock. The large and heavy stainless steel case with the original crown and embedded lugs has a brushed face and sides and is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at the underside of the left case side. The brushed stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a worn hippocampus engraving and a few marks of wear. The case does not seem to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1012 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in February 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
