Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Seamaster from 1964 in a rare reference. The silver sunburst dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion marks that gives the dial that special vintage look many collectors covet. The elegant dauphine hour and minute hands are in fine condition while the seconds hand is in fair condition with visible corrosion. The original plexiglass crystal has a cyclops eye at 3 o’clock, where the date is displayed. The date can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear. The stainless steel case is in fine condition, with the original crown and long, drop shaped lugs. It shows some overall wear, perhaps most notable at the lower lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus medallion and a few scratches and marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 562 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
