Here is a marvelous, all original Omega Genève Seamaster from 1968. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and black lettering. It has steel strip hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, double at 12 o’clock. There are a couple of small marks just below the center of the dial. The baton hands are in fine condition with the original black contrast and lume intact. The date can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notably around the edge at about 4-5 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and batman lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and on the left case side. The stainless steel case back with a crisp and clean hippocampus medallion at its center is in fine condition, with a number of small wear marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bead of rice bracelet is in fine visual condition with some stretching and overall wear. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This Genève Seamaster is dressier than most of its step-siblings, and the wonderful dial makes it really stand out. It is a wonderful watch to have grace your wrist and it will be a watch to pass on to the next generation.
