Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Genève from 1972. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a black script Omega logo and emblem and barely any marks. It has faceted steel bar hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, twin markers at 12 o’clock. The baton hands are in fine condition with the original black contrast and lume and a few small marks visible under magnification. The seconds hand is painted black. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly pushing the crown in. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel case is in fine condition with some overall wear. There are some marks towards the lugs at the face of the watch, perhaps most prominent at 5, 7 and 10 o’clock, as well as at 3 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel back is in fine condition, with a brushed center and a polished slope, showing a few scratches around the notches in the rim. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1481 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Genève may have been the entry level for Omega, but this watch has certainly stood the test of time with its wonderful dial and overall condition. The timelessness and simplicity makes this watch a very versatile beauty to own and wear.
