Here is a stunning, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1962. The crosshair silver sunburst dial has a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. It has a scatter of tiny corrosion spots which gives the dial a gorgeous patina. At the poles are beautifully detailed arrow tail steel hour markers and in between faceted steel hour markers, all with black onyx inlay. The dauphine hands are in fine condition with a few aging marks visible upon close scrutiny. The window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again until the date changes. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 4 and 6 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and the characteristic dog leg lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean steel Geneva observatory medallion and is in fine condition with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original Omega bead of rice bracelet is in very fine condition with little stretching and only light overall wear. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The dog leg Constellation is one of the vintage lovers’ favorites, and this is a watch that loves to be worn. It looks great on the wrist with its vintage condition and will serve its next owner well for years and years.
