Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1962 in a rare Jumbo size. The silver sunburst crosshair dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. It has “spaceship” steel hour markers at the poles and faceted steel hour markers in between. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial, none of which are individually possible but which make the dial seem to sparkle. The dauphine hands are in fine condition, with a scatter of corrosion spots visible under magnification. The cyclops in the original plexiglass magnifies the date at 3 o’clock, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly turning the hands through midnight, then backwards through 20:30 and then through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The wide stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original crown and lovely drop shaped lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a slightly worn gold Geneva observatory medallion and a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on the original steel bead of rice bracelet. The bracelet is in fine condition with some marks and stretching, most visible on the double fold clasp and the end links. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in February 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
