Here is a fantastic and very rare, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1973 made especially for the Japanese market. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. There is a faint mark in the chapter ring at about 4 o’clock, which is only visible at certain angles. The dauphine hands are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. This function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original crown and dog leg lugs is in very fine condition, with light overall wear. The radially brushed stainless steel case back has a somewhat corroded Geneva observatory medallion but is otherwise in very fine condition with a few marks of wear.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1011 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in August 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
This was the last Constellation model with dog leg lugs and it is one of the very rarest, being sold new only in Japan. It looks great on the wrist with its fabulous dial and fine overall condition and is a watch you will love to wear and own while it grows nicely in value over the years.
