Here is a wonderful LeCoultre Memovox from 1962. The two tone dial is in very fine condition. The outer dial/chapter ring has a steel LeCoultre logo, art deco numerals at the poles and steel strip hour markers in between. There are a few discoloration spots around some of the markers, such as at 2 and 9 o’clock. At the rim of the inner dial is a painted minute track. The inner silver sunburst dial has an arrow that rotates for accurately setting the alarm with the top crown. It is in fine condition with a scatter of tiny aging spots around the outer edge and around the dial center. The faceted baton hands are in very fine condition.
The alarm is set with the top crown. Winding the alarm is done by rotating the crown while fully depressed. By pulling the crown out one can rotate the inner dial to set the arrow at the desired alarm time. When the set time is reached the alarm buzzes loudly for about 15-20 seconds when fully wound. When the crown is in the outer position the alarm does not ring.
The stainless steel bezel/watch face is in fine condition with some wear throughout, perhaps most notable at around 3 o‘clock. The stainless steel case is in very fine condition with long, straight lugs and small marks of wear and age throughout, in particular on the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a brushed pattern and a few scratches and marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
Inside the watch, LeCoultre’s high grade K814 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in June 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
