Here is a fabulous, all original King Seiko 45KS from 1970. The silver linen dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and black strip hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There is a mark at the edge of the dial at around 12 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands with the characteristic black contrast are in very fine condition. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to set the time. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, most noticeable at around 12 o’clock. The large and angular stainless case with the original KS crown is in very fine condition with just a few marks of wear. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold KS medallion and is in very fine condition, with just a few small marks. It has an engraving showing the watch was originally presented as a work award. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original KS buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 4502A movement beats strongly and accurately at the then insane rate of 36000 bph to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
