Here is a wonderful, all original King Seiko 45KS Hi-Beat from 1971. The silver sunburst dial is in fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and faceted steel bar hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. There are a couple of small marks around the dial, such as at around the 1 and 10 o’clock hour markers, and there is some discoloration close to the edge of the dial at around 3, 6 and 7-11 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands with the characteristic black stripes down the middle are in very fine condition. When the crown is pulled out to set time, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with only light overall wear. The large and angular stainless case with integrated lugs and the original KS crown is in fine condition, with some overall wear, perhaps most prominent at the upper right lug. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold GS medallion and is in fine condition, with a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine visual condition with a few marks on some of the links and the double fold claps, as well as showing some stretching. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
