Here is a wonderful, all original 1^st generation King Seiko from 1963. The silver sunburst dial has taken on a stunning patina. This is a so-called Special Dial (SD), with wide and chunky solid white gold markers. There are a few marks around the center of the dial. The faceted dauphine hands are in fine condition with a few marks visible under magnification, in particular on the minute hand.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, most prominent a couple of nicks at around 4 and 11 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and elegant, long lugs is in fine condition with light overall wear on both case sides and also at the lugs. The stainless steel case back has a slightly worn shield medallion and is in fine condition with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 44A-based King Seiko movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The first generation KS is not easy to find anymore and the stunning Special Dial on this one really makes it stand out. This is a gem of a watch that will add to any collection while also being a wonderful watch to wear as part of a regular rotation schedule.
