Here is a fabulous, all original Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox GT from 1969. The silver sunburst outer dial is in very fine condition, with a script Jaeger-LeCoultre logo and steel block hour markers with golden facets and the original lume dots at the outer ends. The 6 and 12 o’clock markers are painted black and there are black minute marking stripes in between the hour markers and along the rim marking stripes down to 0.2 seconds. There is slight discoloration at around 6 o’clock.
The inner silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the bold GT markings showing only a couple of marks of age and wear. It rotates when the upper crown is pulled out for setting the alarm. The baton hands with the black framed lume stripes at the tips are in very fine condition.
The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight, then backwards through 23:00 and through 02:00. Repeat as necessary.
The alarm is set with the top crown. Winding the spring for the alarm is done by rotating the crown while fully depressed. By pulling the crown out one can rotate the inner dial to set the arrow at the desired alarm time. When the set time is reached the alarm buzzes loudly for about 15-20 seconds when fully wound. When the crown is in the outer position the alarm does not ring.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition, with light overall wear and some more noticeable marks at around 2, 6 and 8 o’clock. The massive elliptical stainless steel case continues the sunburst pattern of the dial and is in fine condition, with replacement crowns and embedded lugs. It shows some wear throughout, both at the face and the sides. The brushed stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market stainless steel bracelet of good quality.
Inside the watch, LeCoultre’s high grade bumper automatic 825 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +15 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in July 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Memovox is one of the most iconic watches in history, and this GT version with the bumper automatic is great fun to wear. It looks fantastic on the wrist with its large size and wonderful dial and case and is an investment that will grow in value over the years.
Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use. We offer 14 days full return rights and are very proud of our reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.
