Here is a stunning, all original IWC caliber 89 from 1969. The brushed golden dial is in excellent condition, with a steel IWC block logo and the script logo underneath. It has faceted golden bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double markers at the poles. The baton hands have the original lume intact and are in very fine condition.

The solid 14K gold case with the original fish crown and heavy batman lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear and a few deeper marks at the bottom right lug. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a brushed center and some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, IWC’s legendary caliber 89 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This is a rather late version of the caliber 89, sporting both the block and script IWC logo. It looks amazing on the wrist, and sporting one of the best movements ever made, this is a real find.
