Here is a fantastic, all original Seikomatic Chronometer from 1965. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Seiko logo and barely any marks. It has faceted black polished steel bar hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition, with a few tiny marks visible under magnification. When the crown is pulled out to set time, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock shows the date, which can be quick-set with the crown pulled out to the middle position. The quick-change function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel watch case with wonderful twisted lugs and the original crown at 4 o’clock is in excellent condition, with just a few marks of wear. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold Seiko lion medallion and is in fine condition, with a few scratches and marks. The case has been refinished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with original Seiko buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 6245A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Seiko has made a lot of outstanding watches, and the Seikomatic Chronometer was on par with the Grand Seiko for both design and quality, later being named the 62GS. This watch looks stunning on the wrist with its fabulous dial and big size and it will make its next owner very happy indeed.
